From the desk of Ru Johnson
When Molina Speaks and his partner Sheree ‘lovemestiza’ Brown approached Roux Black about collaborating on promotion for the release of their dual film and book premier, I was immediately in awe of what they had in mind. The film “ROOT” is a beautiful journey in the phases of love work complete with lush images, music and a powerful soul message. The film is partnered with poetry written by Brown that furthers the ‘lovemestiza‘ brand with a book by the same name. No phones, no booze, just a high soul vibration that will take you to the moon on March 31, 2018 at McNichols Civic Center Building in Denver. Read on for more information.
Molina Speaks and Sheree “lovemestiza” Brown extend an Invitation to Ritual on Saturday, March 31st. The creative duo takes over the McNichols Civic Center building for an evening of dance, muse, and creativity. Join them in celebration of the lovemestiza book launch and the world premiere of the film ROOT!
Sheree is a writer, herbalist, and Afrofuturist, who is independently publishing her first book of poetic prose. The book’s title lovemestiza is an ode to her mixed ancestry, and to the intersection of her identities as a woman, human, cultural and spiritual being.
Molina Speaks is an an all around artist, poet, musician and human bridge. The 2017 Westword Mastermind is set for the premiere of his first full-length feature film, ROOT. The dreamscape film was inspired by the creation of an album by the same name.
Mark your calendars with your symbols of culture and inspiration. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 14th. RSVP here for more information.
